The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talkingscience.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">TalkingScience Web site<\/a> features science news,\u00a0 interviews with scientists, and intriguing science and technology stories across the Web.\u00a0 The NIMBioS branded blog is called <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talkingscience.org\/category\/biology-by-numbers\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Biology by Numbers&#8221;<\/a> and will include videos, news stories, and educational content from NIMBioS. &#8220;Biology by Numbers&#8221; is one of several <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talkingscience.org\/blogs\/talkingscience-blogs\/\" target=\"_blank\">blogs<\/a> on TalkingScience. Currently, &#8220;Biology by Numbers&#8221; features a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talkingscience.org\/2011\/03\/counting-bears\/\" target=\"_blank\">video<\/a> starring frequent NIMBioS visitor Rene Salinas about counting bears in the Appalachian Mountains. The Salinas video is also cross-posted on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talkingscience.org\/category\/teens-2\/dream-job-2\/\" target=\"_blank\">&#8220;Dream Jobs&#8221;<\/a> page. For Rene, we hope that is indeed the case!<\/p>\n<p>According to its site, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.talkingscience.org\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\">TalkingScience&#8217;s<\/a> core mission is to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Cultivate enthusiasm for science and a desire for scientific literacy in the general public \u2013 particularly teens.<\/li>\n<li>Encourage young people to pursue STEM subjects in school, get involved with STEM-based extracurricular activities, and pursue careers in STEM fields.<\/li>\n<li>Support educators (teachers and parents) in their efforts to increase scientific literacy in the next generation.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Look for fresh NIMBioS content every month.
