Vazquez is an associate professor of mathematics at San Francisco State University. Her research applies knot theory to the study of DNA. NSF&#8217;s prestigious CAREER grant is awarded to faculty early in their careers who are conducting outstanding research and working on creative ways to integrate research and education.
