Headline: More germs in hospitals becoming drug-resistant. Newspaper Article Synopsis: Research findings show that about sixteen percent of the enteroccocci collected from 43 hospitals is resistant to vancomycin, the drug commonly used against this bacteria. In addition, about half of the vancomycin-resistant strains were resistant to other primary antibiotics. Transference of this resistance to other bacteria is also a concern.
