SRE program
NIMBioS sponsors
Summer Research Experiences (SRE) at NIMBioS for Undergraduates and Teachers
each summer.
Undergraduate majors in math, biology, and related fields live on the University of Tennessee campus for 8 weeks and work in teams with UTK professors on research projects at the interface of mathematics and biology.
Mid-way through the program, participants present their progress at the UT STEM Summer Symposium.
In some years, veterinary students (DVM or VMD) also participate as part of the summer program.
Undergraduate Research Conference
NIMBioS organizes and hosts an annual Undergraduate Research Conference at the Interface of Biology and Mathematics each Fall. Faculty and Minority Serving Institution partners and high school teachers are invited to see the research of these undergraduates.

NIMBioS Tutorials
NIMBioS hosts a number of tutorials related to the interface of biological/computational/mathematical research.
QUBES Project
The Quantitative Undergraduate Biology Education and Synthesis (QUBES)
project aims to improve learning opportunities for all students enrolled
in undergraduate biology courses by reflecting the centrality of
quantitative approaches in modern biology. The QUBES hub web site is a
resource for education, research and collaboration in quantitative
biology. NIMBioS is a partner organization and was an early supporter of
the project.
