What is the purpose of your research?
The purpose of our research is to determine if a particular genome undergoes natural selection of the codons.

Describe a typical day on the job.
A typical day on the job consists of learning information on the research and writing in a program language. It includes reading different scientific research papers and writing in such programs such as Perl and RevTrans.

What new experiences did you gain that have helped you today?
I have learned numerous programming languages, which could be useful later on. I've also learned some information about biology that I didn't know.

What advice would you give someone who's interested in/curious about participating in the program?
The advice I would tell the individual would be go and apply for the program because it will be a wonderful experience in learning new information, whether it’s math or biology, which will be useful.
